POPULAR SINGERS, BANDS FOR GUITAR TAB. All songs in the section are written for Guitar Tab unless otherwise stated. To use the list simply select the letter to take you to the surname of the artist or popular composer, or the beginning of the name of the band you are looking for. Please remember that the same (or extra) titles by the same artist may be available in our Popular Piano Vocal Guitar list, or in the Guitar tab plus CD sections, or even the guitar chord songbook section, whether or not this is mentioned.
While it does not give you exact versions to play from, PVG actually contains more musical information (for example a simple bass line), it can be much quicker and easier to play from the chords shown improvising your own rhythm style etc, and usually the PVG version is less expensive.
A further style of book which can be useful and provides a large number of songs for the money is the Guitar Chord Songbook. These give just lyrics and chord symbols of over 20 songs in each book and are useful when you already have a fair idea of what the song should sound like

When there is a bewildering choice in your list for my favourite band how can I decide which book to have? Obviously if you are a fan of the band you will recognise the title that matches the album you want the music of. However, just in case some of the titles are not available you might want to be extra certain that the music book of your choice has not just drifted out of print.(This list is compiled from the most recent information, but things can change sometimes) So it may be as well, if you are in a hurry to choose the most recent book. How do I know which is the most recent book? These will be the highest catalogue numbers, - very recent AM numbers have six figures starting with 9 and the most recent of the numbers shown without letter prefixes will generally have only four numbers followed by A or B (older numbers of this type will consit of 5 figures only). What books are least likely to be available? A further warning that this book has not been re-printed and may be due to run out of print at any moment is unfortunately a low price, £7.99 or less. By all means try your luck on these, (we will try to order in any book you specify) but not if you are in a hurry, as you may have to shift to a different version if your book fails to arrive first time! There are Several anthologies available or books labelled "The Complete"? Which one is most complete? Surely they should all have everything in them. Theoretically any anthology is complete but if it is dated for example 1962-73 you obviously know that it will have nothing from 1974 onwards. If there are no dates given, apply the knowledge given you above about how to choose the most recent additions to the catalogue, by comparing catalogue numbers. How do I pay?
